Dr. Helen Chung uses the simulator

Friends of the Eye Foundation came together to support our efforts to bring     this state of the art equipment to Calgary’s ophthalmology’s training program.      Residents and Fellows have the opportunity to practice their surgical skills   through various modules that simulate actual eye surgeries.

The simulator will benefit current and future physicians entering into the   residency and fellowship program in Calgary.

The ophthalmology program includes ‘hands on’ surgical training.  Residents and Fellows work along side surgeons during eye surgeries.   Calgary’s residency and fellowship program provides excellent training and the Eye Foundation is pleased to be able to provide additional support to enhance the training opportunities.

Calgary ophthalmologist provide fellowship training to fellows from all over the world.  Dr. Paul Savage (photo above) provides guidance to Dr. Matt Anderson; Retina Fellow from England.

Dr. Geoff Williams (photo – left) supports Dr. Joseph Nyormi, a Retina Fellow  from Kenya.    Each Fellow will bring their new skills learned back to their country and preform sight saving treatments and/or surgeries.
