The Calgary Eye Foundation (formerly University Eye Foundation)  is a local, charitable organization that supports and raises funds for Ophthalmology research, education and program development, including special equipment to improve diagnosis and treatment.   Programs supporting medical students, residents, fellows, faculty and allied health professionals help the ophthalmic community to deliver excellence in care to improve the quality of life for people dealing with eye disease, injury or age related vision challenges.

The Eye Foundation was founded in 1993 by a group of local Ophthalmologists that wanted to see change and stronger support to Calgary’s Ophthalmology program.   In 1994 the Foundation became a registered charity with Canada Revenue Agency allowing the Foundation to issue charitable tax receipts to support ongoing fundraising initiatives.
